 Shopmobility
ScooterShopmobility is a scheme providing powered and non-powered wheelchairs and powered scooters, to enable people with limited mobility to shop and use town centre facilities. The equipment is available from a centrally located spot within Stretford Mall.
Who can use the scheme?

Young and elderly people who have mobility difficulties as a result of permanent or temporary disablement, age, accident or illness.

How does the scheme operate?

On your first visit, you will be required to complete a simple form, and provide proof of identification (e.g. pension book, bus pass, driver’s licence, etc). Staff will help you to choose the best vehicle for your needs and you will be shown how to operate it safely. An area is set aside for trying the wheelchair or scooter out, and you can practise as much as you like.

How can I become a member and what are the benefits?

By becoming a member of Trafford Shopmobility, you are entitled to one year’s unlimited use of either a wheelchair or scooter. Membership costs £20 per year, which includes a membership card. You will also be entitled to vote at the Annual General Meeting.

Charges

Membership fee £20.00 per annum
Powered scooters or wheelchairs £4.00 per session*
Non-powered wheelchairs £1.50 per session*

* A session is up to three hours

At Stretford Mall a £2.00 refundable deposit is required.
